QuAIA Supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement

QuAIA endorses the call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel called for by Palestinian civil society.

The three demands of the BDS Campaign are:

1. Ending Israel’s occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall
2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality
3. Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.

Boycott means refusing to buy Israeli goods, avoiding Israel as a tourist destination and not patronizing businesses that support the occupation.

Divestment is a call for banks, corporations and countries to end any investments in Israel and Israeli companies.

Sanctions is a call to our government not to conduct regular diplomatic business with the Israeli state and can also include limiting trade and other forms of pressure.

QuAIA supports the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) established in 2004. PACBI has developed detailed guidelines for this boycott, and calls on people and groups internationally to participate in the BDS campaign until the three demands have been met.
